Setting Up Recurring Events with Gravity Forms

Our plugin makes it super easy to set up Daily, Weekly, or Monthly recurring events. Once you publish your event, we’ll automatically create copies based on your settings — each with the right date, time, and even featured images and categories.

Here’s how it works:

Daily Recurring Events

If you choose Daily:

  • We look at your Recurrence Start Date, End Date, and Daily Interval (like every 1 day, every 2 days, etc.).
  • Starting after your original event date, we create new posts for each recurrence date, spaced out by your chosen interval.
  • Each recurring event:
    • Keeps the same title.
    • Gets a custom URL slug with the date added (e.g., your-event-2025-05-01).
    • Copies over your featured image, start/end times, and event categories.
  • We also make sure the original post is correctly marked with its own event date.

Example: If your event starts on May 1st, ends on May 10th, and you set it to repeat every 2 days, we’ll generate events for May 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th.

Weekly Recurring Events

If you choose Weekly:

  • You’ll pick which days of the week (like Monday and Thursday) you want the event to happen on.
  • Starting from your Recurrence Start Date, we create events for each of those days, every week, until the Recurrence End Date.
  • Each recurring event:
    • Again, keeps the same title, featured image, times, and categories.
    • Gets a unique slug based on the event date.

Example: If you pick “Monday and Thursday,” and your start date is May 1st, you’ll get copies for each Monday and Thursday through your end date.

Monthly Recurring Events

If you choose Monthly:

  • You’ll select which week and day of the month (like “First Monday” or “Third Friday”).
  • Each month between your Recurrence Start Date and End Date, we find the right day and create a new event post.
  • Just like the others, each recurring event will:
    • Keep your original settings (title, times, image, categories).
    • Have its own slug with the correct date.

Example: If you pick “Second Tuesday,” we’ll create events on the second Tuesday of each month, up to your end date.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Make sure you set a Start Date and End Date for recurrence.
  • For Weekly repeats, make sure you pick at least one day of the week.
  • For Monthly repeats, make sure you select both the week (“First”, “Second”, etc.) and day (“Monday”, “Friday”, etc.).
  • If nothing happens, check your event’s Recurrence Settings and make sure Enable Recurring Event is turned ON.
